The Export-Import Bank of the U.S. (abbreviated Ex-Im Bank, Exim Bank, or Eximbank) is an independent agency of the federal government
which supports the financing of U.S. exports through loans, guarantees, and credit insurance programs.

While much of the financing and insurance offered by Meridian Finance Group involves commercial
(private-sector) lenders and underwriters, we have also helped hundreds of exporters to increase
their international sales by using Exim Bank and other government-supported
Export Credit
Insurance and
Equipment Loans to Foreign Buyers.

Ex-Im Bank programs may be especially applicable for exporters selling into the riskiest emerging
foreign markets, which may be off-cover with private-sector lenders and underwriters.

With no minimum financing fees nor minimum annual insurance premiums, Exim Bank may also represent
the best starting point for some small-business exporters and companies new to international sales.

Ex-Im Bank programs are available to exporters of products manufactured in the U.S., with a few
congressionally-mandated exceptions; for example, exports of military hardware. (Restrictions on
foreign content, defense products, etc., apply only to Eximbank and other government programs;
no such limitations exist for financing or insurance extended by lenders and underwriters in the
private sector.)
